the giovanni sandwich was delish! although not toasted, the bread was gigantic and had a buttery feel. i do wish there was more spread or sauce to share more throughout the sandwich, but otherwise, the contents of the sandwich came together really nicely and i enjoyed it thoroughly.
The food here is pretty good. I tried the Michelangelo and I really liked it, and was pretty surprised by how spicy the peppers were. The service is also good, but there's just a really long wait. I don't know if that's because of online orders/call-ins/anything like that. I sat on a stool while I waited and the place had nice ambiance so that helped a lot.
Decided to get lunch here one day as it's close to my office and it was delicious. They have a good selection of sandwiches as well as drinks. I had the Matthew sandwich. The baguette was fresh and crunchy. The checkout line is very organized, but there is quite a wait so in the future I'd probably order ahead. The restaurant itself is pretty but small. There's only a few tables and then bar room.
It's a chain of stores in Manhattan but I really like it. Some of the sandwiches are SPICY but it's always so good and consistent.
Nice little sandwich shop. Good vibes when you walk in. Range of hot and cold sandwiches. You get to pick your bread. Christmas music was playing, employees were enjoying themselves. Sandwiches were good, just wish they had more filling in them. I preferred our hot sandwich over the cold . Iced water available and a restroom. Coffee bar too.
The sandwich was delicious but a little pricey. Quality ingredients. I would totally return. Great for lunch, if possible try to order ahead to avoid waiting.
Sooo the sandwich I built myself here was phenomenal! However a couple disappointing things: The price ofc, unavoidable for midtown Manhattan. It is what it is But the size of the bread and filling? Should be a lot more for that price! Fresh ingredients, deep flavors, enjoyable meal at Bryant park :) Honestly would try it again here Oh and if you want to try my sandwich combo: Fresh Mozz Sun Dried Tomatoes Sweet Roasted Peppers Red Onion Arugula Lemon Basil Pesto Balsamic Dressing
Solid food but high prices. Haven't been here in a while but returned for a team lunch outing. Service is fairly quick but thankfully it wasn't too busy today. Not much ambience to speak of as you'll likely not eat here but if you must, it's rustic farmhouse style. On to the food. Italian cheesesteak, decent amount of meat and good flavors with mushrooms and truffle cream. Focaccia isn't excessively oily. Honestly, it's a good sandwich but at $19 all in, it can barely clear that high bar. The value part is saved only because of the overall sandwich as it's shareable if you're a modest eater. Otherwise it's definitely a splurge.
Very helpful staff who is willing to give you a hand with suggestions when you don't know what you want to have from their large menu of sandwiches. I wanted a warm sandwich with a little bit of spice in it and went with the suggestion of il sole. I chose to have it on focaccia bread. The sandwich was very good. It had a combination of spice plus a little sweetness and was both chewy and crunchy at the same time. The sandwich was huge, but I didn't hesitate to finish it all in one sitting. This was my second time visiting Alidoro, and I haven't been disappointed at either visit.
7 minute walk to Bryant park from my hotel on the overcast day! Not too busy for a Friday afternoon. The cashier was friendly and appreciated my "our-of-town accent "...didn't know I had one, but boy oh boy she did! I wanted some spice during lunch that day. She steered me away from the Enzo (she said I needed milk/water READY, ready!) and advised on the il sole with just a little spice. Sandwich came out in less than 5. It was really hot in the establishment, so I didn't stay and eat. This delicious concoction failed to make it back to the hotel room on 35th street...poor thing, didn't stand a chance. Some might complain about the small amount of meat on the bread, but I could lose a few...I wasn't mad. Delicious lunch with a small amount of spice. There was a sweet jam that paired perfectly with the salty, melty cheese. Hit the spot!
